It’s been a busy summer at Mad River Glen as construction has moved along at a rapid pace on the Basebox renovations and the rebuild of the Patrol/Ski School building. We expect both projects will be done in time for the upcoming ski season. Here’s a peek at some of the work over the last couple of months.
What’s old is new… The renovations gave MRG a great chance to revert our buildings to this classic gray, red, and white color scheme. So far everyone is loving the new/old look! It’ll take until next summer for the paint job to be finished on all the base area buildings, we can’t wait!
Wrapping up the “live edge” siding on the new Basebox addition, which houses a new stairway, an elevator to meet today’s code requirements, and additional cubby storage.
Mike Witzel and his crew apply a fresh coat of paint to the third floor of the Basebox.
Prepping the new elevator shaft for installation of the equipment. In addition to providing handicap accessibility, the kitchen staff is going to really appreciate the added efficiency of the elevator for food operations!
Tile was installed a few weeks ago in the extensively renovated kitchen area.

The new Patrol/Ski School building will house the first aid room, locker rooms and equipment storage for the Patrol, and locker rooms and storage for the Ski School (shown here in September).
