A renovated Home for the Legendary Patrol

The Skier Safety & Services initiative proposes a renovation of the existing Ski Patrol building to better serve our dedicated Patrol and skiers. Mad River Glen founder Roland Palmedo was instrumental in the creation of the National Ski Patrol. In keeping with this legacy, the Patrol is one of the mountain’s key strengths and has received recognition for excellence by the ski industry. Current facilitates are inadequate for our strong and growing group of patrollers, as well as ski school instructors who use a portion of the current facility for gear storage.

The renovation anticipates an updated interior and aesthetics; improved patient care and services; updated building systems; a variety of structural improvements, including a new foundation where necessary; and improved circulation for easier access around and within the building. More space will be dedicated for equipment and gear beyond what's currently provided for Patrol and Ski School. The Skier Safety & Services building is currently in the conceptual design phase. The leadership of the Mad River Glen Cooperative has determined that the needs for the Skier Safety & Services Initiative are $420,000. Construction is anticipated in 2021.
